At just 108 square miles, Antigua is the largest of the Leeward Islands, little sister Barbuda being 30 miles (48 km) to the North, enjoying a truly delightful climate where the temperature rarely rises above 90°F (32°C), or falls below 75°F (25°C), all year round. Gentle trade winds, low humidity, and clear calm warm seas create conditions for the idyllic beach holiday . . . find Antigua on Google Maps

Famous for its beaches, cricket  and laid back way of life, tiny unspoiled Antigua is now one of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations, flights are easy and daily from the UK and, to a lesser degree, from the USA. The little Island has taken full advantage of the publicity gained from its independence in 1981 and the remarkable success of its cricketers since then to push its name into the big league of West Indian tourism alongside Barbados and Jamaica.

Whilst car hire is not essential, it is strongly recommended, as there is much to see and do in Antigua, and, apart from Calabash, a few minutes stroll down the hill, the wide range of nearby restaurants in all price brackets and tastes in the area at Falmouth and English Harbour are about 10 minutes  drive away. Many of our guests choose local Titi car hire, who have a range of some 40 air-conditioned competitively priced vehicles of various sizes, and most importantly, will collect and deliver you from and back to the airport straight from Lime Hill, about 45 minutes away. Email titi@candw.ag.

Galleon Beach enjoys a quite remarkable repeat booking record, guests returning year after year, some for over 25 years, which speaks volumes for this unspoiled tranquil and friendly place, a True Paradise. Although Lime Hill is a comparatively new property, some of our guests are already returning for their second and third time. Guests should be aware that the Hurricane season in Antigua is generally reckoned to be around late August to mid October, so we suggest you do not book then. Some years there are no Hurricanes, some years there are, nobody can say for sure, but it is better to be safe than sorry . . . At all other times, the weather is usually simply glorious.
